The simple answer is NO!
The mass media has many of you believing that eating fat will make you gain weight and so most of you avoid eating fat altogether. Let me tell you how wrong this is.
There is a link between eating fat and gaining weight, however it is not directly related like most people think it is. The real reason why people who eat a lot of fat gain weight is not because eating fat makes you fat. Eating the wrong types of fat makes you fat!
Eating the right types of fat can actually help you to get rid of belly fat by improving your body’s natural ability to burn fat efficiently.
It’s not right to say that fat is bad for you, because that just isn’t true. You must first understand that fat is actually one of the main components of your cell membrane throughout your entire body and eating an adequate supply of healthy fats is important to your overall health. In order for your cellular process to proceed normally at maximum efficiency, you must supply it with enough healthy fats.
When I say healthy fats, I don’t mean heavily processed, man-made, and chemically altered fats.
This is the type of fat that is found in most processed foods and it’s also the type of fat that can impair your regular cellular function causing your body to work harder just to operate properly. In order to eat the right types of fat you must learn to recognize which fats are good for you and which ones are not. Eating the right fats is important for many other bodily functions including hormone production, vitamin utilization, nutrient absorption and even enzyme regulation which all play an important role in fat burning.
Here is just a small list of foods which contain fat burning fats:
- Almonds
- Olives and olive oil
- Flax seed
- Avocados
- Peanuts and natural peanut butter
- Sunflower seeds
- Monounsaturated & polyunsaturated fats
- Omega-3 & Omega-6 fats
